However, we must be careful of what we teach ourselves. Limiting Beliefs Limiting beliefs can happen in many ways. Childhood trauma, past failures, teachings, or other experiences can lead to inaccurate beliefs about ourselves. These beliefs are usually general blanket statements that we’ve accepted as fact. “I am a failure.” “I can’t do anything right.” Even innocent-sounding beliefs such as “I’m a procrastinator” can limit our behavior and affect the outcome we strive for.
